Liquid Chrome is one of the most reflective chrome effect paints available on the market today that can be applied without specialist equipment. This versatile product can be applied with any high quality spray gun and dries instantly into a brilliant, mirror like finish.
Below shows the process on a VW camper van from prep to finish.
Repair and prep substrate/panel for primer.
Apply primer. When dry, flat, ready for black Basecoat.
Apply a water based black basecoat and topcoat that with ICL Liquid Clear sealer. Alternatively, you can apply our Rapid Base black solvent (2 coats) but must allow sufficient time for tail solvents to vent off. You are aiming to achieve a mirror-like surface. If necessary, when dry, flat out any imperfections and buff.
Then apply Liquid Chrome making sure you apply nice, light, even coats until desired finish is achieved (3-5 very light coats).
When dry, you can apply either ICL Liquid Clear 1K water based acrylic and/or ICL Ultra Clear polyurethane topcoat to seal and protect the Liquid Chrome coating.
