Watch Lancia’s Boss Drive The Pu+Ra HPE Concept

The concept won't lead to a production model but it previews the design, innovation, and technology of the upcoming Ypsilon, Aurelia, and Delta

Lancia released footage of the Pu+Ra HPE Concept being driven by its CEO, Luca Napolitano. The vehicle that serves as a manifesto for the brand will soon embark on a European tour, visiting the six countries that will play an integral role in Lancia’s relaunch process.

The official video with the test drive proves that the concept has a functional electric powertrain although Lancia never released information about its underpinings and technical specifications. While the concept is described as being “perfectly drivable”, it is treated with care and respect as is the case with most unique and extremely valuable concepts. Napolitano is not the only one who has driven the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE, as journalists and experts have already sat behind its wheel.

The Lancia Pu+Ra HPE debuted on April 15 as the first example of the new design language created for the next decade. While the electric two-door sportscar won’t lead to a production model, it previews the “design, innovation, and technology” of Lancia’s future models, namely the Ypsilon, Aurellia, and Delta.

The concept’s exterior has styling references to Lancia classics including the Stratos, Beta, Flaminia, and Aurelia. The futuristic interior was created in collaboration with Italian furniture maker Cassina and is inspired by Italian living rooms. The concept introduces Lancia’s new lighting signature and illuminated grille, extensive use of sustainable materials, and the S.A.L.A. (Sound Air Light Augmentation) user interface that will find their way into production.

The European tour will allow Lancia fans to see the Pu+Ra HPE Concept in the flesh, as we are waiting for the debut of the all-new Ypsilon supermini, coming in 2024 in both hybrid and electric forms. The next model will be the Aurelia flagship set to debut in 2026 as a fully electric crossover. Finally, the return of the Delta is scheduled for 2028 in the form of an electric hatchback.
